The Breathtaking View that Captivated Emperor Taisho
Near Suizu Parking Area on the Hokuriku Expressway, you’ll find an overlook with a breathtaking view of Tsuruga Bay. The Suizu Station building on the former Hokuriku Main Line was once located somewhere near the southbound Suizu Parking Area on the modern Hokuriku Expressway. According to a story about Emperor Taisho, when his royal train passed through the station, he was so taken by the view that the departure of his train fell behind schedule. The northbound parking area is located high up, providing visitors with an even more incredible view of the dynamic scenery. Sunset Atelier, named for the beautiful view of the sun setting into the sea, beyond the Tsuruga peninsula, has been designated a Lovers’ Sanctuary in recent years.
